Canal Plus buys Studio Bagel to boost YouTube channel offer

French pay TV group Canal Plus has acquired 60 percent of Studio Bagel, France's most popular YouTube channel, Les Echos reports. The purchase price was not disclosed. Canal Plus's move comes a few months after it launched sixteen channels on YouTube, two of which ('Les Tutos' and 'Le Dezapping du Before') are produced by Studio Bagel. Canal Plus hopes the comedic talent behind Studio Bagel will drive content creation for other channels, which are currently attracting 40 million video views a month. Canal Plus previously bought under 5 percent of one of the world's biggest YouTube channel
