Canal Plus joins forces with French media group to acquire classical music TV channels

Canal Plus and media group Les Echos-Le Parisien have agreed a 50/50 deal to acquire Mezzo from Lagardere. The business owns two pay-TV channels (Mezzo and Mezzo Live HD), distributing a catalogue of 700 programmes dedicated to classical music, opera and concerts. With revenues of EUR 10 million in 2018, Mezzo has a presence in around 80 markets, where it is available to a footprint of 60 million households.
