Canal+ signs NBA rights deal with Econet in Africa

Saturday 3 December 2016 | 11:36 CET | News
Canal Plus announced that it will broadcast US basketball games from the NBA after signing a broadcasting rights deal with Econet Media's Kwese, covering several French-speaking African countries, Madagascar and Mauritius. For the next three seasons, Canal Plus will air all the NBA games on its Sport 3 channel, complementing this coverage with a weekly magazine programme ('Canal NBA'). As part of the deal, the broadcaster has also acquired exclusive rights to the 'NBA TV' channel (broadcast in English), which has now become available as part of selected Canal Plus packages.
