Car consortium releases first digital key standard

The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) has announced the publication of the Digital Key Release 1.0 specification, the first standard designed to enable drivers to download a digital vehicle key onto their smartphones. The NFC-based digital key will let drivers lock, unlock, start the engine and share access to their car from their smart devices using an existing Trusted Service Manager (TSM) infrastructure.
