Caricel officials charged with breach of Jamaica Telecom Act

Officials at Jamaican telecommunications firm Symbiote, trading as Caricel, have been charged on grounds of infringing the country's Telecommunications Act, reports local daily the Jamaica Gleaner. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions charged Symbiote CEO Lowell Lawrence, company secretary Minette Lawrence, director Natalie Neil and Xtrinet's Livingston Hinds with one count of conspiracy to use spectrum without a licence and five counts of use of spectrum without a licence, said the report.
