Carriers view service differentiation top priority for Wi-Fi

Service differentiation is now viewed as the top driver for Wi-Fi, ahead of Wi-Fi data offloading, and discovering new ways to monetise Wi-Fi is becoming a top priority for service providers, according to a study conducted for Amdocs by global research and consultancy firm Analysys Mason. About 89 percent of service providers (including fixed, mobile and cable) have either deployed, or plan to deploy or use, Wi-Fi networks. On average, respondents ranked Wi-Fi's importance as seven+ out of ten, underscoring the value of Wi-Fi for service provider growth.
