MaXam Entertainment, TV syndication concern, will be acquired by CBS (New York, NY), division of Westinghouse Electric, on undisclosed terms, under an agreement in principle. MaXam will be merged with CBS's international distribution business and Group W Productions, syndication unit of Westinghouse. The new unit will market, produce and distribute programming for US and international syndication. The unit will also manage CBS's licensing, home video and new media business.
