Cell C Q1 revenue increases 3%

South Africa operator Cell C reported a 3 percent increase in its revenue for the first three months of 2015, resisting pressure from call termination rate cuts. The group said that its customer base was close to 21 million at the end of march, up from just under 10 million in 2011. Data traffic on Cell C's network increased by 44 percent and data revenues by 59 percent compared to the first quarter of 2014, Fin24 reported. CEO Jose Dos Santos said the operator is aiming to build one of the country's best data networks, after it announced a multi-billion-rand deal to build a new LTE network
