CenturyLink to offer voluntary leave to 175 employees, discontinues holiday bonuses

US fixed line operator CenturyLink will cut aroundy 175 jobs in locations across the 16 states that it serves, reported FierceTelecom, citing a company spokesman. CenturyLink will also stop offering holiday bonuses to its employees. The company said it will offer voluntary separations to selected union-represented field operations employees as part of its ongoing effort to remain cost-competitive and align resources with customer demand. The operator had 46,000 employees at the end of September.
