CenturyLink recently won a contract to provide communications services to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The contract includes support for the 'NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) Tracks Santa' programme, including enabling the programme's phone hotline. The contract, which also covers Ethernet circuits and private line services, is valued at approximately USD 275,000 the first year, with four one-year options, for a total contract value of USD 1.5 million.

On top of the contracted communications services, CenturyLink is also providing circuits and equipment as a team partner to the NORAD Tracks Santa programme.

The NORAD Tracks Santa programme aims to spread good will and cheer during the holiday season while informing the public of the mission of NORAD, which tracks everything that flies in and around North America in defense of the United States and Canada 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Millions of people around the world track Santa with NORAD via the website, social media, mobile apps and calls to the operations centre.

The NORAD Tracks Santa programme is made possible through the generosity of volunteers as well as the government and corporate partners that help bring it to the world for free.
