CEOs call for EU telecom reform to support consolidation

The CEOs of Europe's top operators and industry group the GSMA have sent a letter to the European Commission calling for an improved regulatory environment to help them weather difficult market conditions. The letter pointed to falling revenues and reduced market values compared to operators in the US and Asia and other players in the in internet industry, limiting the operators' ability to invest in new infrastructure and support Europe's economic recovery.
