
Chambers joined the company in 1991 as head of sales. He became CEO in January 1995 and served in that position until end July 2015. During his time as CEO, Cisco annual revenues went from USD 1.2 billion to nearly USD 50 billion. When Chambers became executive chairman in 2015, Robbins took over the reins as CEO.
At the next AGM, Cisco will likely reduce its board to eleven members, including ten independent directors.
