Charter launches broadband service for low-income families

Cable operator Charter Communications announced the launch of a new low-cost broadband service called Spectrum Internet Assist, available without a cable TV subscription. The offer comes with 30/4 Mbps broadband speeds for USD 14.99 per month, plus taxes and fees, and a standard modem. The offer is available to low-income households, which includes families with students who participate in the National School Lunch Program and seniors 65 and older who receive Supplemental Security Income program benefits.
