Chile seeking partners for 'Transoceanic Cable' project

Tuesday 27 October 2020 | 11:19 CET | News
Chile's telecommunications watchdog Subtel has formally launched the search for partners for its forthcoming 'Transoceanic Cable' project to connect the country with Oceania and Asia. The state-owned company Desarrollo Pais has been tasked with the project to build a 13,180 km undersea cable to Australia, with an additional connection through New Zealand. "We want to carry out a very transparent process that allows us to find partners before defining our business model," said Desarrollo Pais general manager Patricio Rey.
