Chilean consumer group appeals spectrum hoarding ruling

Chilean consumer group Conadecus said it filed an appeal in the supreme court against the refusal of the competition court (TDLC - Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia) to examine its complaint accusing three mobile operators of spectrum hoarding.The TDLC ruled last month that Conadecus had failed to demonstrate how the alleged behaviour by Entel, Movistar and Claro could directly affect consumers, and ordered the consumer association to pay the costs of the proceedings, which have held up the handover of spectrum in the 700 MHz band.
