Chilean internet consumption up 40% in March on Covid-19 effect

Total internet traffic transmitted over Chile's network hit 2.8 million terabytes (TB) in March, up over 40 percent year on year following the government's adoption of lockdown measures to control the spread of Covid-19. The latest update from telecommunications regulator Subtel also revealed that mobile data traffic likewise increased by around 41 percent year on year to 648,000 TB in March, up from 460,000 TB a year earlier. As a result, the average amount of data consumed per mobile user in Chile came to over 13 GB in March, up from 10.3 GB a year earlier, with average fixed line data
