Chilean operators required to unblock phones at no charge

Chilean telecommunications ministry Subtel has announced that customers can now demand providers to supply unblocked mobile phones that can be used on any network. Consumers can ask their operator to unblock their handset or ask their new provider to do so at no charge. Mobile number portability will become effective on 16 January.
