Chile's operators to invest CLP 13 bln in Araucania digital divide rollout

Chilean telecommunications regulator Subtel announced that a public-private partnership will enable a "historic" investment to bridge the digital divide in the country's underserved Araucania region. Claro (America Movil), Entel, Movistar (Telefonica) and Wom have pledged to invest some CLP 13.37 billion over the 2019-2020 period to build 50 new antennas in 30 districts and significantly enhance service capacity, with the support of 298 new connectivity points in 28 districts across the region.
