Chile's Subtel sets minimum 'broadband' speeds

Over 3 years after Chile's House of Representatives approved a minimum guaranteed speed for internet access, the country's telecom regulator Subtel has published new rules defining what can be termed "broadband". According to the new Law on Guaranteed Minimum Speed of Internet Access, a mobile broadband plan must offer a minimum of 5Mbps, rising to 25Mbps for a fixed internet plan.
