Chile's WOM calls for return of excess spectrum in 700MHz band

Monday 22 October 2018 | 15:30 CET | News
Chilean mobile operator WOM has asked the country's anti-trust tribunal (TDLC - Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia) to require Telefonica, Claro and Entel to return excess spectrum on the grounds that the three operators failed to heed a Supreme Court judgment handed down in June, reports local daily La Tercera. In that ruling, the court concluded that the three operators hadn't respected a 60MHz spectrum cap when bidding for frequencies in the 700MHz band back in 2014 and should return the equivalent amount of radio spectrum.
