
China Mobile had 113 million wireline broadband customers at 31 December 2017, following a net addition of 35.06 million users in the period. The total number of household broadband customers reached 109 million at end-2017, with a net addition of 34.95 million. This accounted for 75.6 percent of the total number of new household customers in the market during the period, the company said. The number of subscribers of its digital set-top box ‘Mobaihe’ reached 57.25 million, and the household broadband blended ARPU topped CNY 33.3, up by 17.5 percent compared to 2016.
With a net addition of 126 million IoT smart connections in 2017, China Mobile’s IoT network consisted of 229 million connections. The company’s ‘and-Video’ service jumped 67.2 percent in revenue, while its mobile payment service dubbed ‘and-Wallet’ exceeded CNY 2.1 trillion in transaction value. China Mobile’s total number of 4G base stations increased to 1.87 million, covering 99 percent of the total population in China.
The company proposed an ordinary final dividend of HKD 1.582 per share; together with an ordinary interim dividend of HKD 1.623 per share already paid, total dividend for 2017 amounted to HKD 3.205 per share, representing a dividend payout ratio of 48 percent.
