China smartphone sales drop by 6% in Q2

The Chinese smartphone market shipped 105 million units during the second quarter, resulting in a 5.9 percent year-on-year decline, according to preliminary data from IDC. However, the pace of decline narrowed compared to Q1 as channel activity normalised and new products were marketed. Huawei maintained its leader position with a 27.2 percent market share, followed by Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Apple.
