China Telecom appoints Ruiwen as interim CEO, chairman

China Telecom's board of directors has announced that Ke Ruiwen will exercise the powers of the chairman and CEO, effective immediately until a permanent appointment is made by the board. Ruiwen replaces Yang Jie, who resigned from his position of company chairman and CEO on 4 March. Ruiwen currently serves as China Telecom's executive director, president and COO.
