China Unicom to cut tariffs, up network speeds

China Unicom has notified the Hong Kong stock exchange that it will up speeds and reduce tariffs. The move will lower the internet price line access tariff for SMEs and the international long-distance call tariff. In addition, from 1 October, the operator will stop charging domestic long-distance and roaming fees for mobile handset subscribers. China Unicom added that the changes will impact its operating revenue and net profit to some extent. It added that it will continue implementing its Focus Strategy, accelerating innovative transformation and optimising its business structure in order
