China's Alipay partners with European mobile wallets

Tuesday 11 June 2019 | 17:30 CET | News
Chinese tourists visiting Europe will be able to pay using QR codes with local digital wallets from this summer. This follows the partnership between Alipay and six European digital wallet operators to promote the interoperability of digital payments based on the QR code for travelers in both Europe and China. The partnership was agreed with Portuga's Pagaqui, Spain's Momo Pocket, Austria's Blue Code, Norway's Vipps and Finland's ePassi and Pivo, which will adopt a compatible QR Code format provided by Alipay.
