Chinese smartphone makers to ship over 199 mln smartphones in Q4 - study

Tuesday 7 November 2017 | 11:05 CET | News
China-based vendors are expected to ship over 199 million smartphones in the fourth quarter, including exports, according to a study from Digitimes. The figure is up 11.1 percent from the 179.2 million units shipped in the previous quarter. Digitimes believes growth will be driven by rising replenishment demand in China plus peak-season effects overseas. The study noted that while China's smartphone shipments will continue up in Q4, the quarterly growth rate will slow, due to the high comparison base recorded in the earlier quarter.
