CIF targets rural areas in FTTH expansion

Dutch investment fund CIF plans to focus more on expanding fibre infrastructure in rural areas. In recent months it's been rolling out in outlying areas of Hilvarenbeek, and it's working to do the same with Cogas in the Twente region. It extended an invitation to all Dutch households and businesses to do the same in their areas, targeting the around half a million sites in rural areas without access to very fast broadband. CIF said it sees opportunities to extend the roll-out due to demand for faster internet, a greater financial willingness and more fficienct and cheaper construction costs
