Cisco ends partnership with ZTE over sales to Iran
Cisco Systems has terminated a long-term sales partnership with Chinese telecoms equipment maker ZTE after an internal investigation into claims that ZTE sold Cisco networking equipment to Iran, reports Reuters. The investigation by Cisco came after Reuters reported that ZTE sold banned computer equipment from Cisco and other US companies to Iran's largest telecoms operator. It also sold millions of dollars worth of additional US products, including Cisco switches, to a unit of the consortium that controls the Iranian telco.
