Cisco halts Cisco Kinetic for City product line for smart cities

Cisco plans to soon stop selling its Cisco Kinetic for City product line, and eventually its support, the company told the Wall Street Journal. The company had developed the line to help develop smart cities, such as in Sheffield. The end of the flagship effort comes amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has weighed on Cisco's core business of supplying networking equipment and has limited the ability of local governments to finance smart city products.
