Cisco, Intel, Apple, Google take patent office to court in attempt to halt patent trolls

Cisco, Apple, Google and Intel have filed a lawsuit against the US Patent & Trademark Office, calling for it to rethink a change in its procedure on reviewing the validity of patents also subject to court action. They claim the agency violated federal law requiring public consultation on regulatory rules before they are implemented. Cisco also wants the PTO to conduct an inter partes review of patents held by Israeli firm Rabot, which has sued Cisco for patent infringement.
