Cisco opens some software, operating systems for use with other brand hardware

Cisco has announced it will be separating the software from its hardware in certain cases, which means customers will be able to use some operating systems and software with other brand hardware. This more "flexible consumption" comes at the request of customers and will apply to the IOS XR and Nexus OS products for now.
