Cisco upgrades software licensing agreement

Cisco has announced a new buying model designed to help large companies simplify the management of Cisco software. Citing data indicating that the average amount of overspending due to complex software licensing is 25 percent, the company has launched Cisco Enterprise Agreement (EA), described as a real-time consumption model view of licenses and a blanket enterprise-wide contract. As a result, customers will be able to centralise license management, predict budgets and have a strategic, multiyear relationship with Cisco, said the company in a statement.
