Claro and Net launch first LTE Broadcast in South America

Brazilian operators Claro and Net, in partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Ericsson, Samsung and Globosat, will conduct the first experimental transmission over LTE Broadcast technology in South America, during the Rio Open presented by Claro in Rio de Janeiro. Video content will be generated live and exclusively by pay-TV channel SporTV. Ericsson is the technology supplier, while Samsung will provide the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6 smartphones, which have been adapted for the tests and feature Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, the only ones on the market compatible with LTE Broadcast.
