Claro Brasil plans to enter financial services sector

Monday 3 August 2020 | 16:29 CET | News
Claro Brasil is planning to launch a new company in November or December that will offer financial products, reports Veja. The operator already offers mobile phone credit for top-up products, but the idea is to expand the credit offer and create a PicPay-style payment system. In addition, with the new payment services company, Claro will be able to reduce the costs and commissions paid to payment gateways. The fintech will have as target clients Claro's customers without bank accounts, often because they don't have fixed income or proof of residence.
