Claro Colombia expands 4G coverage to 99% of territory

Claro Colombia (America Movil) said it has now activated 4G-LTE service in 99 percent of the country's territory, having installed a total of 8,917 antennas in 1,075 municipalities across all 32 departments. In a statement, the operator said it has connected 160,000 people from nine localities in Alta Guajira and 6,000 inhabitants from another nine towns in Putumayo to its 4G network for the first time. It also plans to connect at least one state school to the network every week throughout 2021.
