Claro Dominican Republic share up to 56% of mobile lines

The Dominican Republic ended October with a total of 8.8 million mobile lines, up 231,000 year on year, according to the latest update from the country's telecommunications watchdog Indotel. Around 75 percent of the lines were prepay and the remaining 25 percent were postpay, with Claro (America Movil) consolidating its leadership thanks to 4.9 million lines and a 56 percent share. Altice followed with 3.3 million lines after the merger of its Orange Dominicana and Tricom units, with Viva accounting for the remaining 609,000 lines.
