Claro expands multi-cloud platform to 10 LatAm countries

America Movil announced the activation of a multi-cloud service for companies across 10 of its Latin American markets, including Colombia and Brazil. The newly-expanded Claro Cloud service is above all designed to enable SMEs to increase their digital presence and compete with larger businesses, said Claro Colombia president Carlos Zenteno in a statement. “With Claro Cloud we are democratising our cloud to give a greater reach to micro, medium and small companies so that they can face the current digital challenges,” he said.

Separately, America Movil-owned Brazilian operator Embratel said it was opening up its data centres to users in other countries as part of the project to create a unified network. The platform based on VMware technology includes public, private and hybrid cloud services, and will enable companies to meet specific territorial data location requirements, it said.
