Claro, Nokia conduct first Chilean 5G tests

Claro Chile (America Movil) has begun trialling 5G services in the country for the first time in real time lab tests conducted with Nokia using the 27GHz band to show the capabilities of the technology. The trial was held at Claro's Santiago HQ in the presence of Chile's undersecretary of telecommunications Rodrigo Ramirez Pino, with the companies hitting download speeds of 9Gbps and a latency of 1 millisecond. Demonstrations of artificial intelligence and robotic systems were also carried out on the network set up for the trial.
