Clearwire to launch 4G in Brussels by year-end

Friday 3 August 2012 | 10:50 CET | News
Clearwire Belgium confirmed it will launch 4G in Brussels by the end of the year, the website Astel reports. Clearwire, owned by local investor Techmax, will have the advance in the capital on the three mobile network operators, according to the report. This is because its equipment does not exceed the extremely strict radiation limit of 3 V/m in Brussels, while the other operators cannot launch 4G and stay within the norms without limiting coverage of their older networks. Furthermore, Clearwire will not need additional sites, as it plans to deploy the service on its existing antenna towers.
