Cloud infrastructure services up 47% to USD 14 bln in Q2

Worldwide cloud infrastructure services revenues continued to soar in the second quarter of 2017, growing 47 percent year on year to reach USD 14 billion, according to the latest update from Canalys. The market leader remained Amazon Web Services (AWS), which climbed 42 percent on an annual basis and accounted for over 30 percent of total spend. However, the growth rate of AWS was lower than those of its main rivals in the second quarter, with Microsoft posting 97 percent year on year growth, closely followed by Google with 92 percent.
