CloudFlare expands to Melbourne, picks NextDC M1 data centre

Thursday 30 April 2015 | 17:54 CET | News
CloudFlare, a web performance and security company, has arrived in Melbourne at Australian data centre operator NextDC's M1 data centre. The CloudFlare network is designed to optimize websites, mobile apps or APIs to improve load times and performance, and also blocks threats, including distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. CloudFlare claims that over 5 percent of global web requests pass through its network each month. CloudFlare's deployment in Melbourne marks its 34th data centre globally, and its third in Oceania following deployments in Sydney and Auckland, New Zealand.
