CMA delays Fox, Sky takeover ruling by a month

The UK Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has delayed its provisional ruling on the proposed GBP 1.7 billion takeover of broadcaster Sky by 21st Century Fox by a month due to the volume of evidence received, reports The Guardian.

The body had been scheduled to announce its provisional decision on 18 December, but this has now been delayed until mid-January 2018. A CMA spokesperson told the paper that it had received more than 12,000 submissions and needed the extra time to reach 'an informed and considered' provisional decision.
