CNC talks to VOD operators about competing with Netflix

France's national film centre, the CNC, has held talks with French VoD providers Orange, Canal Plus, AlloCine, FilmoTV and others to prepare a response to the market entry of Netflix at the end of the year. The CNC's reflexions are not intended to culminate with a report, but with the launch of initiatives by the end of the year based on existing players and emerging projects, a person close to the talks told Les Echos. The CNC wants to see new mass market or niche offers to make the VOD market more dynamic and is prepared to put money on the table. After the failure of talks between Orange
