CNIL puts Google on notice over right to be forgotten

French data protection agency CNIL has put Google on notice to delist search results from all of its websites, not just those with European extensions, under the Right To Be Forgotten, recognised by a European Court of Justice ruling in May 2014. Individuals who want to see results removed following a search under his or her name can make a request to the search engine first. In case of refusal, the person can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in their country. CNIL requested that Google delist several results, but this was only done on European extensions of the search
