CNMC fines four companies for 902 premium number breach

Tuesday 9 October 2018 | 11:15 CET | News
Spain's communications and competition regulator CNMC has fined the companies Digital Virgo Spain, Eagertech 21, Masvoz Telecomunicaciones Interactivas and Telecoming a total of EUR 90,000 for using special rate numbers with the 902 prefix for lucrative ends. Under Spanish legislation, numbers beginning with 902 must be used for information and customer service purposes only and not to make money. The price of calls to 902 numbers are generally high since most of Spain's operators expressly them from the bundled minutes or unlimited calls included in the plans they offer.
