CNMC proposes limit of 235MHz per operator in 5G bands

Friday 13 April 2018 | 13:59 CET | News
Spain's communications and markets regulator CNMC has proposed that a maximum of 235MHz of spectrum per operator be set in the so-called 5G frequencies, reports EFE, citing a CNMC study. The limit refers to the mid-bands of 1.8GHz, 2.1GHz, 2.6GHz and 3.4-3.8GHz and is designed to ensure that each operator will be able to acquire up to 100MHz of spectrum in the 3.5GHz band. Telefonica, Vodafone and Orange already have 135MHz in the 1.8GHz, 2.1GHz, 2.6GHz bands, said the report.
