CNMC to probe Mediaset use of TV advertorials

Spain's communications regulator CNMC has announced the launch of an investigation into the use of advertorials by the broadcaster Mediaset Spain. The CNMC said Mediaset's promotion of health and beauty products on the daytime TV programme "Que tiempo tan feliz" broadcast on the channel Telecinco between December and February failed to make a clear separation between advertising and editorial content and breached the Audiovisual Act's prohibition of subliminal advertising techniques. The company has fifteen days to appeal the accusation and could face a fine of EUR 100,000 to EUR 500,000 for
