CNMC to probe Telefonica wholesale maintenance service

Spain's communications regulator CNMC has announced the launch of an investigation into what it describes as a "deterioration" of Telefonica's maintenance of its copper network and the services it provides to alternative operators. The regulator said it had detected irregularities in the repair of faults, with the company accused of having exceeded the maximum average time (15 hours) to repair damage to its network. In addition, the CNMC said the former incumbent had falsely attributed incidents to alternative operators, thus hiding the real maintenance level of its network. Telefonica has a
