Colombia to install 30 new digital zones in San Andres and Providencia

Monday 23 November 2020 | 11:26 CET | News
Colombia's Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (Mintic) has announced plans to install 30 new digital zones in San Andres and Providencia as part of a project to re-establish communications after the passing of Hurricane Iota. The first Category 5 storm in history to strike Colombian soil hit the archipelago with winds in excess of 258 km/h last week and 15 officials from operators Claro, Tigo, Movistar and Avantel have been dispatched to assess the damage and re-connect networks, said the ministry.
