Colombia's TigoUne spends over USD 8 mln on node-splitting system

Colombian operator TigoUne (Millicom) has invested some COP 26 billion (around USD 8.5 million) on a new node-splitting system designed to improve its customers' broadband connectivity, reports La Republica, citing company CEO Marcelo Cataldo. The new system ensures that nodes previously connecting some 2,000 homes now connect a maximum of 500, resulting in higher speeds and better stability. "We've had to adapt our infrastructure to ensure all family members have a good browsing experience," said Cataldo, pointing out that an average Colombian home has three or four devices connected to the
